Doula FAQ

First, what is a doula?

A birth doula is a maternal health professional who supports the growing family throughout pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood. Doulas provide childbirth education, continuous support during labor and delivery, and postpartum support to help you achieve the experience you desire.

What will the consultation look like?

The consultation will be either in your home or in a quiet place such as the library or coffee shop. We will go over any questions that you may have pertaining to a doula such as cost, payment plans, etc.

When are you on call?

I am on call the moment you sign the contract, but will be technically on call at 36 weeks on until you have baby.

What will it be like having you as my doula?

I get this a lot. I believe that you should have the birth that you desire, if possible. I’m an open book, so if you have questions, please always ask them. There is no such thing as a stupid question. If I don’t know the answer off the top of my head, I will try my best to find it within 48 hours. I love my job, and am very passionate about my clients and helping them in the best way I can. I will help you advocate for what you want. I’m not pushy or judgmental, so no matter what you choose I will support you. This is YOUR birth, and your experience.
